With buttercream cakes becoming more and more popular it's so important that you learn the secrets to smooth buttercream.

 

If you often feel frustrated at the finish of your cakes and would like to learn new crumbcoat techniques in a fun and supportive environment then this is definitely the class for you.

 

During this special one day masterclass I will be giving you the opportunity to road test 3 crumbcoat recipes.

 

Following my simple step by step demo you will make your own silky smooth Swiss Meringue Buttercream PLUS watch me demo American Buttercream (learn how to fix it) and White Chocolate Ganache. And learn why each recipe has its purpose.

 

After 10 years of teaching Cake Decorating Skills I have learnt that one buttercream recipe does not suit all cake makers! I will be sharing 3 different methods to crumbcoat your cakes, so again you can trial the techniques and discover which works best for you.

 

Tips for freehand, ganache plates and the upside method will all be demonstrated and how to create a sharp edge.

 

You will be encouraged to choose an on trend colour scheme that compliments the flowers you have brought with you (more details will be provided of where to buy once class purchased).

 

I will show you how to add abstract textures, piped edible petals and real flower posies. Then we will ensure we take some beautiful photos for you to help build your portfolio.

 

This really will be a day to remember and build your confidence for future cake making. We will break for 1 hour (approx 1-2pm) and have plenty of refreshment breaks.

 

Please bring your lunch with you or book a table at nearby Ten Streets Social for a tasty tapas lunch. Payment plans are available.

 

There are two payments options available:

 

Caker option: £175 Equipment & Resources that students are requested to bring 1x6inch stacked & filled cake, 1 x cake turntable, palette knife, stainless steel scraper, scissors, edible flowers/silk flowers. Student takes home their 3 Tier Cake boxed.

 

Maker option: £225 All the above provided and students take home their 3 Tier Cake boxed.

 

Resources provided to ALL students (for both price options) include 1x4 inch cake dummy, 1x8 inch cake dummy, buttercream, colour gels, cake box, cake card, dowels.

 

Class will take place at my NEW venue at Make.NorthDocks, Regent Road, Liverpool L3 7BN. Currently on the road parking is available for free. Venue is a 5 minute drive from the Albert Dock and City Centre Hotels.
